SEOUL STATION

If she closed even one door this movie would be far shorter.

some movies you go into knowing that you will enjoy, and this movie was no exception. everything I loved about the first one I love just as much in the prequel. the zombies are as freaky as ever, lots of great action set pieces, and a lot of character depth. animation is often used as a crutch to avoid doing all of the SFX, but this feels a lot more realistic plot wise than most animation. the black comedy from the first movie is gone, and this movie goes to a lot darker places than the first. from its depiction of homelessness, government, sexual assault, and its ending. the first movie in the series holds back with its Nihilism, but this one knows how pointless trying to survive this scenario really is. its a real gut punch of a movie that I found refreshing as hell, and I can safely say I have never seen an animated movie like it.

If you think any one gets any special treatment for being a main character, you will be not so sadly mistaken.
