WILLY'S WONDERLAND

Updated: May 28, 2021

sometimes you just need to shut your Brain off and watch Nick Cage beat the fuck out of a bunch of puppets. That's worth the price of admission.

This movie is exactly what you think it's going to be. You can tell the entire plot by the first 10 minutes, Nick Cage is filmed like he's in a western, it has some b******* random side character plot that no one cares about, and the puppet characters look sick as hell. I was very underwhelmed by The banana splits just having guys in suits, and this movie feels a lot closer to actual animatronics. A great way to mix practical and CGI effects and I love them so much.

And if I may double back to that Western thing for a bit, this movie feels like a western in more ways than one. Guy rolls up into a small town to kick some ass and ride off into the sunset when he's done. Even has the well choreographed action scenes I would expect from a western.

Translation this movie is fun as hell. Stupid stupid goofy fun and I loved it. Kind of ironic the childish Glee this movie makes me feel.

8/10

P.S

i damn near creamed my jeans when i heard the director say the words western. not my most astute observation but that serotonin high has yet to be rivaled.

hey fuck you man dont judge me. shits been weird lately.
