TRACES OF DEATH

As humans, it's natural to be curious about death. Personally, I have always been curious to see how I would react in the presence of a dead body. We've become so desensitized to violence and death, it takes more and more to truly shake someone to the core.

Whether you like to admit it or not, death has a strange kind of hold over you. It's a mixture between curiosity and revulsion, but curiosity always seems to be the stronger of the two forces at play. So you'll have to forgive me for being curious when I heard that there was a more extreme faces of death out there. In fact, there's even far more extreme gore films like this one I could have talked about instead. But to save both you and me that trauma, let's dip a toe into the shockumentary genre.

My biggest problem with this movie isn't the gore whatsoever, it's the way this movie chooses to present it. From the second this movie begins with its long-winded warning about just how extreme this movie is going to be, you can tell the tone they're going for is more of an 80s haunted house tour guide. They have almost zero respect for any of the victims depicted in this movie and talk about what happened in the style only used for late-night horror hosts. This movie knows it's nothing but a cash grab and really doesn't give a shit about trying to hide it.

As for the actual contents of the movie it's exactly what you would expect it to be. A surprisingly few amount of people actually die on screen, but this movie is full of other minor and major injuries that will make you squirm regardless. Major vehicle crashes, severed limbs, a full autopsy, and plenty more worst-case scenarios. Thankfully you due to the quality, a lot of what you get on screen is blurry and in the distance. But honestly, I'm not going to complain that I can't see all the carnage better. As far as internet gore goes it's fairly tame, however, there are much better things you can watch that show a lot more respect with the material.

I would recommend you skip this and watch obesity post-mortem wherever you can find it. I found it years ago and it's a much more scientific and clinical breakdown of what they do with your body after you die.
