THEY LOOK LIKE PEOPLE

this movie does a great job of setting up the characters before the horror starts. it reminds me a lot of the instantly likable David and Jack, and its great to have such strong characters to make the horror hit home. the horror aspects of this movie are small at first, but it quickly makes you question this movies reality. which is something you will be doing constantly in this movie.

this movie is a perfect example of showing instead of telling, and the movie leaves you with plenty of puzzles to think about as you watch the credits roll. is the threat real? is Wyatt's friend human? does he open the movie as a human and change at some point? who was the man at the park? are there any phone messages at all? its a perfectly simple movie that keeps you on edge no matter what is happening, even without a single kill or bit of violence. its a great meditation on mental health, paranoia, relationships, and of course going bat shit crazy.

maybe.
