THE TWILIGHT ZONE

Updated: Sep 5, 2020

If you dont stan Henry Beamis, we cant be friends. Burgess Meredith is a god amongst men.

I have yet to watch every episode of the show, and I'm about halfway through season 2 right now. I've been watching a lot of Twilight Zone lately instead of horror movies. So when I thought about what movie I will talk about this week nothing really jumped out at me. Then I thought I would just ramble about Twilight Zone for a while.

The Twilight Zone is one of my favourite shows ever. I'm a big fan of shows like this, Tales from the Crypt, Room 104, and other shows that have completely seprate plots every episode. In similar fashion my favourite books are the horror short story books, such a skeleton key, Full Throttle, in the weenie series by David lubar which I will have to cover one day.

The Twilight Zone has a lot of variety in tone. To those who are unfamiliar they may think it is simply a horror or sci-fi show oh, but that is not the case. Some of my favourite episodes of the show have neither horn or sci-fi elements and are simply feel good stories. That being said when the Twilight Zone does venture into horror territory they do it exceptionally well. Every episode there's a Twist at the end, and most of the time the twist is very effective.

Just like any other show of its kind, episodes of the show vary in quality. That being said, I don't think there's a single episode of the show that I don't like. I know that's a hefty claim, the presentation and acting style will never get old to me. The show is a delightfully dark look in to the 1950s.

I think I may cover individual episodes at a later time, because there are certain episodes I would love to write whole little blurb about on here. My personal favourite episode of the whole show is "time enough at last" starring the delightfully weird Burgess Meredith. A few other highlights include to serve man, eye of the beholder, The Howling Man, one for the Angels, and many more.

If you have the chance I highly recommend watching as much of the show as possible.
