in 2007, in the midst of the drought and water shortages, the NSW State government has unveiled plans to tap into and recycle millions of litres of water trapped in a network of abandoned train tunnels just beneath the heart of Sydney. However the government suddenly goes cold on the plan and it is not made public why. There is talk of homeless people who use the tunnel as shelter going missing, even though the government states that there are no homeless people in there. This, and the silence from the officials and ministers, leads a journalist, Natasha to begin an investigation into a government cover-up. She and her crew Pete (Producer), Steve (Cameraman) and Tangles (Sound Technichian) decide to investigate the story in the tunnel.
The way this movie introduces its characters is just boring and lazy. Posing this is some kind of fake documentary just straight up a doesn't work, and it seems with the characters talking directly to camera are the worst part of this movie. It's packed full of very obvious actors trying to be real people, and its yucky and not good and I don't like it. The soundtrack seems to echo this very obviously false vibe, and it's whatever man. At least we're in Australia so they say fuck a lot.
So we're talking about the tunnels a lot, and we're talking about the tunnels, and then we talk about the tunnels for a little bit more, and then we take a brief break and talk about the tunnels for a little bit more. My boy Trav delivers some solid acting for once, In 25 minutes then we're finally in the fucking tunnel.
And the interludes never stop. If this was a novel, He's constant views into what everyone is thinking at all times would be useful, but in a movie it just totally interrupts the flow and destroys any spookiness that was created by knowing that everyone got out alive so they could record these messages. The only thing this movie has going for it is its location.
These characters are dumb as fuck, You're constantly waiting for something to happen, and the whole time you're waiting you have to slog through mediocre acting.
boring and bad/10
