THE LAZARUS EFFECT

Its Re-animator meets Flat-liners, with an all star cast. how bad can it be? well its not that bad. actually a pretty fun movie.

this movie really has the same plot of flat liners in a way. someone comes back from the dead and some experimental serum is used with some wacky side effects. we have seen this setup a hundred times, and thats because it works. science and medical horror movies always evoke the largest of the cringes, simply because it seems so plausible. Movies like Rabid, Human centipede, TUSK, and the dentist all have super high cringe value for the same reason. and i of course mean cringe in the best way possible. i love these movies, and i love that icky sort of feeling watching them. this movie made me jump, made me cringe, and mad me os god damn happy to see Ray Wise.

and this cast is fucking bonkers. Mark Duplass of CREEP fame, Evan Peters the sexy edge lord from AHS, Childish Gambino,and the only man i simp for, Ray Wise. ray wise is one of the best parts of the twin peaks universe, and i love that man to death. if god ever comes to me in human form, i pray he dose so as Ray Wise. all of the characters are super well acted, and even with this mediocre script and plot, this movie is worth watching.

(Honestly, i fucking adore this movie. all of the scares work really well for me, and this movie is scary to me. its not the best movie in the world, but i fucking love this movie. to me, its perfect)
