THE HAUNTED MANSION

"While it may supply giggles and shivers to preteens, grownups should think twice before entering this all-too-haunted house."

-David Sterritt, Christian Science Monitor

I Really didn't remember much about this movie going in, except the fact that i didn't like it very much. but why? was that just my little kid brain jumping to conclusions without really analyzing everything? lets find out.

The Haunted Mansion is a 2003 American supernatural horror comedy film directed by Rob Minkoff and written by David Berenbaum. Under the guise of a happy family vacation, the workaholic real-estate agent, Jim Evers, drags his wife and close associate, Sara, and their two children to the warm Louisiana bayou, in what appears to be a lucrative business deal. In high hopes of putting on the market a gloomy old mansion, the Evers decide to spend the night at the palatial estate, as guests of the cryptic proprietor, Master Gracey, and his cadaverous butler, Ramsley. However, there's more to this place than meets the eye--and as the entire manor oozes with frightening manifestations of the supernatural--the family will have no other choice but to entrust their lives to the otherworldly guardian, Madame Leota. Will the Evers escape from the haunted mansion in one piece?

Not only is this movie totally unnecessary, but the whole thing is essentially just Disney jerking itself off. The one and only goal of this movie was to try and make money off of a Disney attraction from 1969, and in that regard this movie was a success. But in all other areas this movie is a total flop.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a rating of 14% based on 140 reviews and an average rating of 4.2/10. The site's critical consensus reads, "Neither scary nor funny, The Haunted Mansion is as lifeless as the ghosts in the movie." Much of the movie's plot is inspired by Phantom Manor, the version of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Resort Paris. Unlike the Haunted Mansions in the other parks, Phantom Manor has a clear storyline of a bride, her lost lover, and her haunting the mansion. that's all well and good, but why tell a story that's already been told?

The jokes never land, They somehow managed to make Eddie Murphy unlikable, there is nothing scary about this movie whatsoever, and i am a grumpy little guy for even attempting to redeem this milk toast boring ass movie.

stay in 2003 you hell beast/10
