Mary Scheer and Scott Atkinson are pretty good in this, and I guess the one little musical number was kinda fun, but otherwise this is a dub for me. Sort of a miracle it was made at all, in 2002. I’d rather just watch the first Elvira feature.

I figured it couldn't be too much of a mistake to start with the last Elvira movie in this series, I mean it's not like this movie is going to leave a bad taste in my mouth for Elvira films or anything like that…
Elvira's Haunted Hills is a 2001 American comedy horror film directed by Sam Irvin and written by Cassandra Peterson and John Paragon. It is the second film starring Peterson in the title role, after the 1988 theatrical release Elvira: Mistress of the Dark. The film also stars Richard O'Brien and Mary Scheer. Set back in 1851 in the Carpathia Mountains of Romania, Elvira the Mistress of the Dark" en route to Paris with her maidservant Zou Zou for a can-can revue, stop for the night at a haunted castle owned by a certain Vladimir Hellsubus whose long-dead wife bears an eerie resemblance to Elvira.
I remember once upon a time, a friend of mine suggested I would really enjoy DEAD AND LOVING IT since I enjoyed the original Dracula from 1931. I had high hopes considering it's pretty hard to go wrong with Leslie Nielsen, but I found the whole movie way too over the top and ridiculous to be enjoyable. I love dumb comedy, but there's an intelligent way to make low-brow jokes.
Even with Joe Bob to spice things up this movie feels really flimsy And like it's constantly stalling for time to hit the very few beats it has. I get that they were trying to make fun of the '60s Vincent Price Edgar Allan Poe horror films which I haven't seen a lot of, but I don't think the flaws of this movie are a result of me being a younger horror fan.
