So... is it raining Devils, or does the rain belong to the Devil? is it more of a figurative rain/reign? whatever the case may be, this movie is a lot more interesting than I would have guessed.
instantly, I was completely hypnotized by this movie's incredible directing and settings. the entire movie looks amazing, and the ghost town setting is packed full of uniquely amazing production design. the Satanist church looks rad as fuck, and even at the most boring of times the directing had my eyes glued to the screen.
I'm not just saying this because of this movie's desert setting, but the script and pacing of this movie feel a lot like a western. The main plot is a fairly simple heroes story, but one we never get all of the pieces needed to fully understand, which makes the opening of this movie feels like this story's halfway point. it leads to a slightly confusing first watch, but it gives the world of this movie a lived-in feeling I quickly grew to appreciate. as the movie goes on you get a lot more backstory and things make sense, but it wouldn't be much fun to dive into spoiler territory. considering this movie has the phrase "absolutely the most incredible ending in any motion picture!" on its poster, I don't have the heart to spoil it for you. just know that it might not be the best in film history, it's still fun as hell and perfectly balls to the wall.
if you are interested in a hundred times better version of FEAR STREET 1666, I can't recommend you watch this movie enough.
it's purdy
