Just to instantly address the elephant in the room, yes the poster sucks. but damn near every review of this movie on SHUDDER is a positive one, so hopefully yall know a good thing when you see it.
Keira Woods' daughter mysteriously vanishes in the cellar of their new house. She soon discovers there is an ancient and powerful entity controlling their home that she will have to face or risk losing her family's souls forever.
this movies opening is as basic as humanly possible. Besides a daughter who is the worst possible character, the entire family is wonder bread levels of uninteresting. this opening really showcases this movies strange need to show you the unimportant details instead of developing the characters, and the mediocre acting all around has me desperately searching for reasons to keep watching this movie. at this point, we are 15 minutes in.
i don't think i made it past the 20 minute mark.
