SERIAL MOM

People like this are the worst. I mean the acting way too nice white bread mom stuff. I'm perfectly fine with the serial killing.

before we start here today ladies, gentlemen, or whatever you call your sexy selfs let me say this. This movie really isn't a horror movie. Yes people die violently, but I really wouldn't call this a horror movie. But I love this movie so much I want to talk about it. Whether it's a comedy, mockumentary, horror, Thriller, whatever. Anyways with that off my chest lets talk about serial mom.

I love this movie so much. It feels like a movie made for fans of horror movies. John waters calls this the best movie he has ever made, and even though this is the only John Waters movie I've ever seen I have no difficulty believing him. Kathleen Turner gives an amazing performance as are titular serial mom, and can go from a kind housewife to absolutely insane in a fraction of a second.

Most of Kathleen's performance it's just your average 1950 Pleasant housewife in any family movie. And it's not like she's using this housewife persona as a cover for her true self, thats who she really is. Or at least that's who she think she is. She a kind woman and a good mother, unless you are anything other than perfectly pleasant with her. She's a real force to be reckoned with I just genuinely scary in some parts of this movie.

That being said the violence never feels mean-spirited. All of the death and murder in this movie is almost exclusively played for laughs, and that works really well for me.

I love the way they are attacking the idea of horror fans being somehow disturbed and desensitize to real violence. Just cuz you love horror movies and Gore doesn't mean you're completely indifferent to human suffering. Just a tiny bit indifferen

This film is a real Beetlejuice energy to it. Nice happy normal family thrown into the middle of the macabre. I love stories like that, and i love this movie.
