This is why we can't have massive neighbourhood wide orgies to summon Baphomet anymore. It's just a big mess
I guess I'll start off as talking about the cast. There were a lot of people in this movie I recognized. Jerry O Connel who i really thought was Spencer from Icarly for the whole movie, Hannah stocking of gross YouTube Fame, Rebecca Romijn as as a Vanna White stand in and Mystique, and Ruby Modine from Shameless. Quite a cast for a horror movie. Fangoria also had a hand in producing this one, which give me High Hopes when I first saw the logo.
Even with all the star power and Fangoria's name attached to it, I thought the movie was just okay. I watched this song shutter and looked at a couple reviews before I decided to pick it out. Almost all of the reviews said it was very gory and rated it very highly. I'm not too sure what they see in this movie.
There is some practical Gore, but it all seemed fetishistic and not very satisfying. The majority of the cast is made up of women, but unfortunately most of the characters are pretty flimsy. Our lead character Sam was especially two-dimensional. The movie didn't really try to do anything new, and overall didn't really hold my interest.
All that being said though oh, it did get a few genuine laughs out of me. I can't really say that this movie is horrible, it just doesn't really stand out to me in any way. I will say however that the ending was pretty awesome. I definitely thought they were going to cop out on the ending but suprisingly it was the best part of the whole movie.
5/10
