Santa Claus is coming to town

A young boy named Pietari and his friend Juuso think a secret mountain drilling project near their home in northern Finland has uncovered the tomb of Santa Claus. However, this a monstrous, evil Santa, much unlike the cheery St. Nick of legend. When Pietari's father captures a feral old man in his wolf trap, the man may hold the key to why reindeer are being slaughtered and children are disappearing.

i cant tell if this movie is slow our if my attention span is just to short. nothing really interesting happens for the first 40 minutes or so expect for some classic "i'm a man so i don't know how to express my feelings properly but i love you a lot" Dad moments. what i thought would be a fairly standard killer Santa movie turned out to be more of a mystery than an action movie. the radiators stolen from every home, s small bot vanishes with a creepy doll left in his bed, hundreds of potato sacks stolen and the potatoes left on the floor, it all makes you wonder exactly what the fuck is happening.

talking about whats behind all the strangeness would be spoiling a movie that is worth watching, so i shall do no such thing. going into this movie, you should know this isn't a horror movie. or an action movie. or a black comedy. i have no idea what genre this movie would fall under, but whatever it may be it is a movie that is worth watching. the characters are strong, all of the emotional beats land, and its got one of the craziest finales i have seen in a long time.

its not a masterpiece, buts its a very digestible Christmas movie for horror nerds like us.
