-Nazi Punks Fuck Off, Dead Kennedys
I guess sooner or later we had to talk about Nazis, but i was definitely hoping it would be later. and yeah this entry screws up the timeline of the series, but for a life of me i just cant give a shit. as long as we get more murderous PUPPETs wrecking shit, I'm happy.
Set in Berlin during WWII, the Nazi regime is attempting to develop a drug that will animate the dead, in order to use in the war effort. Toulon arouses suspicion as a Nazi dissident, and his secret is discovered. During a Nazi raid on his home, Toulon's beautiful wife is murdered. Toulon vows revenge, with the help of his animated puppets.
this movie has the most acting power out of an entry so far. Ian Abercrombie (AKA Fucking Palpatine) is this movies first example, playing a scientist named Dr. Hess is forced by the Nazis to create a drug capable of animating corpses to use as living shields on the battlefield. Toulon's casting has always been amazing, and keeping with tradition this movie introduces Guy Rolfe with the series first actual puppet show. it does a hell of a good job of showing how these puppets could realistically entertain kids, and just how nice of a man Toulon was and is. William Hickey will always kick ass, Steve Welles was fun in his invisible man style role, but Guy Wolfe is easily my favorite.
This movie really should have been the first in the series. it does a far better job of introducing the premise of the first movie, feels a lot closer in tone to what you would expect from this movie, and has far more and far better effects and kills. I'm kind of trudging through this series so far, but for the first time i find myself excited to watch another movie
9/10
