PUPPET MASTER 4

this movie is directed by Jeff Burr is who is best known for his work in horror sequels, such as Stepfather II, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, Puppet Master 4 and 5, and Pumpkinhead II. We are definitely getting more Texas Chainsaw 3 here than anything else if you catch my drift...

Puppet Master 4 is a 1993 direct-to-video horror film written by Charles Band among others, and directed by Jeff Burr. It is the fourth film in the Puppet Master franchise, and a sequel to 1990's Puppet Master II. why the fuck did they want to continue the story from the second movie? that is the worst one i have seen so far, and Puppet Master 3 really left the door open for a solid sequel in a similar time period.

oh well...

A young scientist working on an artificial intelligence project is the target of strange gremlin-like creatures, who are out to kill him and thus terminate his research. By coincidence, in one of the rooms he uses, there's a mysterious case containing the puppets of the "puppet master". When the puppets are brought to life, they help destroy the creatures.

this movie has the most what the fuck opening of any movie in the series so far. In the underworld of Hell, a demon lord named Sutekh sends forth a trio of diminutive servants called the Totems, magically controlled by his netherworld minions, to kill those who possess the secret of animation, including the magic André Toulon used to give his puppets life. Also the demon lord is named Decapitron. its all 100% practical and exactly the kind of thing you expect from a FULL MOON movie in the best way possible. and now we get to the parts of these movies that everyone loves the most

BORING SCIENTESTS DOING RESEARCH THAT ADDS NOTHING TO THE PLOT!

As uninteresting as this setup is by now, this movie does a lot to keep things fun in a Jason Lives kind of way. Robot laser tag, cuts to the demons in the underworld, double the stop-motion tiny murderers running around, a gaggle of random sexy "scientist" teen meat bags to boost the kill count, a ghostly Toulon stalking about, and of course some really over the top acting. this movie is a little to long winded to earn the so bad its good title, but this movie really isn't horrible. there are tons of little moments that make me laugh, and this movie can be rather charming when it wants to be.

its a stupid bit of movie junk food, and who doesn't like junk food?

i live in fear of what the next movie has to offer.

8/10
