NOBODY

When I went into this movie, I was expecting a more comedic John wick. I figured that Bob would be cracking jokes and kicking ass, and boy oh boy was I wrong in the best way possible.

(Forgive me, I find it impossible not to compare this movie to John Wick. But I mean come on it's even on the poster. Well not this one but trust me..)

John Wick has the feeling that the plot was hastily tacked together to fit as much action into the movie humanly possible. It's hyper masculine, and hyper serious. Ridiculous over the top and often self indulgent. To be clear, I'm not saying John Wick is a bad movie. It's just a movie that knows exactly what it is, and isn't really trying anything new. I think because of that I found it quite hard to connect with it.

NOBODY however, feels extremely relatable. A Lot of that is a direct result of Bob Odenkirk. Behind all the crazy action set pieces, this movie is about a man getting back in touch with himself, and his family. I really don't think anyone else could have handled this role but Bob Odenkirk. He is the perfect mix of family man and extremely dangerous assassin, to the point where this movie feels like the script was written specifically for him. And most importantly, he sure is fuck knows how to deliver the "I miss you" line. Goes to show what you can do with a talented actor and a great script. And a very large budget for absolute chaos in-between the character bits

Even if you tend to avoid action movies, I 100% guarantee that you will enjoy this movie.

10/10
