MORTAL KOMBAT

Kind of funny how in the movie Mortal Kombat, they never actually have a Mortal Kombat tournament.

This movie fucking sucks. You know why the first mortal Kombat works for me? It's because of how goofy it is. The terrible CG characters, the wacky costume and actor choices, and of course the iconic soundtrack. It felt like a movie that was somewhat self aware if it's own ridiculousness, and leaned into it. The new mortal Kombat movie is trying to be serious, and because of that it totally flops for me. This movie feels like it's directed by Zack Snyder, and if you have seen Batman V Superman you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Characters are introduced rapidly and feel completely disposable, the script tries to work in as many video game lines as possible, and none of the jokes are funny. It's the same boring action superhero movie directly been getting since 2016, but this movie is genuinely the laziest cash grab I have ever seen.

I spent the whole movie thinking "if I walk out now I can get home early" I should have left after that God awful opening scene.

At least they fixed some of the white washing. Some.
