Its bizarre to me that a lot of the more recent horror movies don't have an HD poster, but this movie has a 4K poster.
there inst much as far as a plot synopsis online, so here is the best way i can describe this wild ass movie. creepy and horny ass puppet animals and insects experience the sleazier side of show business while trying to get there Muppet's style (parody) variety show off the ground. and even that barely covers all the wild ass stuff this movie has to offer.
as much as you have heard people talk about how crazy this movie, i haven't really heard anyone praise it for what it does well. with a budget of $750,000 it manages to make all of its puppet characters unique in both design and personality. not only that, but the puppet gore is just as practical as the puppets themselves. the whole movie has a dark sense of humor that works quite well sometimes, but most of the time...
this movie is far to disjointed to have any kind of a real plot. there are so many characters running around doing so many different things, its hard to keep up. and to be honest, i'm not really interested in a single character in this movie. even the hedgehog protagonist who we are supposed to route for feels like a boring cliche. the best thing i could possibly say about this movie is it made me chuckle once or twice. its concept is so absurd it could be a breeding ground for comedy, but it feels more like a failed project they tried to salvage and failed. that feeling is probably because this movie was originally conceived as part of a television series, and only belatedly became a feature after Japanese investors proposed expanding it; as such, the script was hastily re-written. Made on an extremely low budget considering the time-consuming process of working with puppets, the film went over budget and schedule.
so yah... maybe skip this movie. watch DEAD ALIVE instead, that movie slaps.
meh/10
