My friend Hannah and I do alternating movie nights, and her last two movie nights were spent watching both MAMMA MIA movies. After watching the first mamma Mia I feel no real reason to talk about it here on the blog, but after watching both movies I feel like I have something to say.
It's probably best to start by saying that the original MAMMA MIA is the better of the two films. The second movie feels a lot more like an attempt to recapture the same magic of the first movie, and it sort of gets in its own way with explaining and showing things that don't need to be explained or shown.
There's a certain type of person that will turn up their nose before even watching the movie, and I must admit I was and still am one of those people. I never did fully buy 100% into this concept so the movie never really worked for me as well as it could have, but for someone who's really into it it's easy to see why this movie would be appealing.
