LAMB 2021

this movie is kind of like PROMETHEUS. the setting is beautiful but the actual movie is... well...

I first heard about this movie through a flood of you-tube videos titled "LAMB explained", and if this movie is confusing to the general public, it goes straight on my watch next list.

A childless couple, María and Ingvar discover a mysterious newborn on their farm in Iceland. The unexpected prospect of family life brings them much joy, before ultimately destroying them. how... specific.

this movies opening is equally bleak as it is menacing. its slow, there is almost no dialogue, and are main characters are simply going through the motions and trying as best they can to keep there spirits up. the whole opening has the feeling of an exhausted sigh, an ancient hotel room that stinks of cigarettes an mold, the dull green florescence of an ancient nursing home, shall i go on? shits depressing, mundane, and boring as heck. at least the sheep are cute. even when the strange sheep baby creature makes his appearance, there is zero fanfare and the movie treats it like business as usual.this isn't a couple who's life changes in one night because of this new life, its more so a couple slowing adapting to the emotions there new situation is causing after dealing with the loss of there child. so long story short this is definitely going to be more ANTI-CHRIST than THE CHILD.

So at this point (30 mins in) the question i kept asking myself was 'are we just going to soak in the mundane slowness and depression of grief, or is this movie going to try and scare me at some point? how exactly does baby sheep boy end up destroying this couple?" well folks this movie is almost 2 hours long, so be prepared for this movie to take its fuuuuuuuuuucking time.

oh yeah and to answer your question this movie is always boring as fuck. so thats kind of a bummer

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz/10
