Hey man if people will buy anything with the supreme logo on it it's not too hard to see how 3 Halloween masks could be the most popular costume ever. Hell seems like every year almost everyone's wearing the same thing anyway.
What makes a movie a "HALLOWEEN" movie? Most people's immediate response would be Michael Myers. What happens when you try and make a Halloween movie without Michael Myers? Is it really still a "HALLOWEEN" movie?
In my oh so humble opinion yes it is. Helloween threes and odd duck. The soundtrack is the synth-heavy John Carpenter style were used to, but that's about the only thing it has in common with the other Halloween movies. Halloween movies are slashers, with a pretty basic formula. Micheal Myers wants to murder the protagonist, fails, and runs away at the end. But this one is vastly different from the rest
For those of you who didn't know, Halloween II was supposed to be the end of Michael Myers. The plan was to keep making movies under the Halloween title, but each movie has a completely separate plot from the rest. Sort of like a Twilight Zone style series of horror movies. I think if they went down this road we could have ended up with a lot more crazy horror movies like this one. But fans wanted more Michael Myers, so the idea was scrapped.
So how was the brief Venture into an on Michael Myers Halloween movie? It was... interesting. Instead of the normal slasher routine we get a more of a murder mystery revolving around to Shady mask company can an alcoholic Doctor Who's here to save the day. This movie reminds me a lot of the stuff and honestly I would probably write it about the same. The real standout of the movie is the gore. This is probably the goriest entry in the original Halloween series so far, even if they are just weird Robot Boys. The other real standout for me is the end. I really love movies where everything isn't okay at the end. There's no big happy resolution and everyone goes home safe and sound.
Its a crazy wild ride that you really have to see to believe. The opening credits of the movie is probably the best opening credits of any movie I've ever seen. The synth music mix mixed with the orange pumpkin outline is awesome and really sets the mood. Unfortunately you'll have to wait about half an hour from there for anything interesting to happen. Out of all the Halloween movies I've watched so far in the original series, I would have to say it's probably a tie for me between Halloween 2 and Halloween 3. I like them both about the same for completely different reasons.
