Almost instantly, I found myself comparing this movie to Carrie. Kid gets severally bullied and abused, and taps into a supernatural power to get revenge. Hell it evens open with our leading man fumbling at sports and everyone hitting the showers. Its a plot that has been done a hundred times, but bot oh boy is this movie unique.

a lot of this movie is a nerd walking around military school being harassed. its uncomfortable to watch, and takes up a lot of this movie. so hope you like watching bullying the movie. When you think this movie is going to have kills / supernatural stuff it holds back for the majority of its run time. its mostly about a bumbling kid trying to summon Satan, and most of the time he fails. I suppose you could call it a character study, but I think that's giving this movie a bit to much credit. but don't let anything I just said mislead you into thinking I didn't enjoy this movie.

despite its flaws, there's a lot to like about this movie. For one, Clint Howard is amazing as Coopersmith. Despite the hair, he works perfectly as a bumbling nerd. And if you wait long enough, you get some really fun supernatural stuff. an old apple computer is perfectly satanic, a women is eaten by pigs in the shower, its full of random nudity, and the finale that will blow your mind.

or i guess chop your mind in half with a sword and then send hell pigs to eat your friends While Clint Howard floats around murdering people and ripping there hearts out.
