I felt oddly attracted to this film in a way I can't explain. The title instantly had me intrigued, and from the second I hit play I found myself glued to the screen.
Errors of the Human Body is a 2012 psychological thriller directed by Eron Sheean and starring Michael Eklund. Seeking a new laboratory to pursue his controversial genetic research, Dr Geoff Burton takes up a position at the world-renowned Institute for Molecular Cell Biology & Genetics in wintry Dresden, Germany. His contribution to their most top-secret project - a human regeneration gene - has the potential to make something miraculous out of a personal tragedy that has haunted him for years. But when he uncovers a conspiracy amongst his colleagues, he finds instead something quite different: a terrifying new virus, with potentially devastating consequences for humanity - and for Geoff, who is not only its first victim, but its unwitting source
While showing a short film at Berlinale in 2006, Sheean met a scientist from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, the brother of cinematographer Anna Howard, who became director of photography on the film. Sheean said in an interview,
"I managed to convince them to let me develop a feature film based around the institute and some of their bizarre and fascinating research projects. It’s not a documentary – it’s a fiction film with some real science as the jumping-off point for the story."
Somewhat ironically, while watching this movie i really started to feel like shit. Hot and cold at the same time, my nose started closing up, and by the time this movie was over i was sitting indoors in my hoodie shivering.
but hey at least this is the best movie I have seen since NOPE. maybe one day when the plauge has ended I will try and explain why this movie works so well.
nobody reads this shit anyway. any of it, it's all irrelevant. i have always been doing this for you but there never was you. just a projection of me.
