Not sure why the imbecile critics on RT gave this movie such a low score. This movie pays homage to the universal studios Dracula and Bela Lugosi. It's witty and well written. Leslie Neilson was absolutely outstanding and hilarious in this movie.

I thought it would be a fun double feature to watch 1931s DRACULA and this movie back to back, but naturally i got distracted an watched THE RUNNER instead. Kind of a bummer this movie isnt in black and white.
Dapper Count Dracula (Leslie Nielsen) relocates from his Transylvanian castle to Victorian London with his slavish assistant, Renfield, in search of new blood. He finds it in a pair of beautiful young women, Mina and her best friend, Lucy. When Mina's straitlaced fiancé, Jonathan, notices his future bride's odd behavior, he calls in his mentor, vampire hunter Van Helsing (Mel Brooks), to save the day.
if you are a fan of 1931s Dracula, this movie feels like a slap in the face. Very few jokes land, the casting makes this feel like a high school play, and this movie is stinky and yucky and i don't like it. it reminds me of the few assholes who found it hilarious to make Charlies slicking noise in the theatre. Seriously yall, have some respect for quality film making and shut the fuck up.
i beg of you to watch POLICE SQUAD, Naked Gun movies, Hell literally everything else Leslie Nielsen has done is better than this. Mel Brooks has plenty of awesome movies as well, so why this movie is such a flop i will never understand
