CHRONICLE

Steve calling his nosebleed a face period has stuck with me since i first watched this movie when i was 14.

i have fond memories of this movie. it came out when i was 12 (same), i first watched it when i was 13-16 with some friends and we loved it. before i had a phone, i had an iPad filled with videos of absolutely nothing. i was looking forward to re-watching what i remember as a goofy black comedy.

This movie definitely has the Landis style goofy scenes mixed with intense scenes of depression and abuse. and just like American Werewolf, the characters here all top notch. this movie feels a lot more bleak, but the comedy scenes are some of my favorite. really this movie is a character study of Andrew, but the 3 leads have amazing chemistry together, and the scenes with them just fucking with people are amazing.

this movie succeeds with everything it is going for. the humour works, the darker scenes work just as well. all of the characters decisions make sense, nothing feels to over the top, and overall this movie is fun as hell.

10/10
