So apparently while Willard was being eaten alive by rats, the whole neighborhood was just standing on his front lawn. also apparently cops have kittens they send into crime scenes to make sure the rats are gone.
a lot of movie have a fairly short blurb online to explain the plot, and this one is about as basic as it gets. in full, it reads a lonely boy befriends Ben, the leader of a pack of killer rats. that's it. that's the movie. the whole movie is ridiculous, unnecessary, and full of way to many dead rats to be much fun. the only thing i really enjoy in the original 2 movies in this series are the rats, and both of these movie have way to much rat violence in them. it makes Bens motives a lot more obvious, but even without the scenes of rat spree killing, this movie would be beyond salvaging.
the new characters this movie introduces are somehow even worse than the original cast of theatre actors, and i found myself completely uninterested in any scene without a big olé pile of rats tearing it up. its just.... wrong. its to colorful, poorly acted, unrealistic, and boring to ever sit through the whole thing.
the original might be worth a watch to people who loved the remake as much as i did, but you would be smart to ignore this movie completely.
