who knew you could mix and match body parts like a human bioncle.
I have only seen this movie once before, but i remember really enjoying it. then i saw a YouTube video from someone i turn to for horror movie recommendations said this movie wasn't very good. that has definitely made me rethink how i feel about this movie, so the only way to put an end to the whole thing is to re-watch this potentially awesome movie
ignoring the actual movie for a second, the idea behind this movie will always be interesting. The allure of easy money sends Mary Mason, a medical student, into the world of underground surgeries which ends up leaving more marks on her than her so-called "freakish" clients. as for how the movie tackles that subject...
aside from a few characters, i still think this movie is great. Mary's professor is an asshole of epic and ridiculous proportion. his character is far to over the top, and his inclusion sort of dumb down this whole movies opening. its a real rough start to an otherwise great movie, but at least this rapist piece of shit gets what he deserves in the very next scene. this movie isnt really a rape revenge tale, but its definitely what send Mary over the deep end of extreme body mods. there is clearly a change in here personality, and it makes everything she does from here on out make a lot more sense.
more than anything, this movie is a bout a surgical student being pushed away from medicine and into the body mod community. the way Mary stumbles into her new profession is perfectly believable, and the whole movie benefits from just how possible this scenario really is.
its disturbing, hilarious, full of wacky characters, great squeamish medical gore, and some solid acting.
