TROMA has a nasty habit of making fun 80s horror movies that take things just a bit to far. But much like Rob Zombie, i usually end up enjoying the movie anyway. even if it makes me cringe.
This is very much another one of the countless gory 80s gem. its a little bit of Texas Chainsaw, a dash of WRONG TURN, and far to much I Spit On Your Grave.
its slow as hell, but it still has some great gore to keep me from shutting it off. At least our leading ladies have great chemistry, which makes the rape scene later extra effective. and speaking of the rape, this movie tries and fails to make jokes throughout alot of it, which is just bizarre tone wise. You get the idea that the people who wrote this dont treat sexual violence as seriously as other movies.
i have a pretty high tolerance for nasty shit, but watching the 2 men that just brutally raped 3 women frolic around in a goofy montage feels like a kick to the nuts.
that being said its quite a unique addition to the pile of 80's/TROMA schlock. i recommend you check this one out just so you can understand how many mixed feeling i have on it.
