i get in reality its probably a fairly shitty job, but i would kill a dude in the middle of sex with a hatchet to work at a drive in.
this movie is even more crazy than SLEEP-AWAY CAMP in the best way possible. A boy kills a man and accuses his twin brother of the murder, and the innocent brother ends up institutionalized, while his psychotic twin goes free. 10 years later, the innocent twin escapes, which triggers his brother into killing again.
every single character in this movie is a crazy display of amateur or simply bizarre acting that its hard for me not to mention every wild ass line delivery. if your a fan of "so bad its good' movies, this movie is an all you can eat buffet. the craziness is constant and range from slightly off to downright hilarious, and all of this movies best moments come from Mark Soper as both twins and Louise Lasser as an alcoholic mess of a mom.
Mark Soper does a good job of making both the twins feel like very different characters, but other than that there isn't much to say. there's a fun Pat Bateman douchyness to the killer twin, and the shell shocked innocent twin reminds me a lot of Tommy Jarvis. and um... hes... yeah he is whatever.
Louise Lasser however i could write a novel on. she is easily the most complex character in this movie, and despite her little girl apparel she is the closest thing this movie gets to a real person. i'm no where near qualified enough to diagnose her, but its oblivious she is struggling with her mental health without ever feeling like a cliche or bad actor. Louise Lasser was famous for her nervous breakdowns, and this movie is one hell of an acting resume for her anxiety riddled career.
mix all that with Ed French's wonderfully nasty practical gore, a surprisingly fun soundtrack, and a big old tablespoon of possible incest, you get one of the strangest 80s slashers i have ever seen.
i pray that there are more of these amazingly strange horror movies out there for me to discover.
